The Giving Committee coordinates the process by which the NSNA gives out funds to projects benefiting the two neighborhoods. The process includes an annual opportunity for people or organizations to apply for funds. These applications are then ranked by the members of the association.

The Giving Committee was created in 2023, and is going through the funding process for the first time in 2024. Applications were due April 15th, and members of NSNA will have the opportunity to rank the applications at the May NSNA meeting after hearing from each applicant.

Following the completion of the process, there will be opportunity for feedback and changes to the process.

We note that both grant approval and grant amounts are subject to the following:

  • The financial success of the annual Eken Park Neighborhood Festival.
  • Whether or not a grant application meets the grant criteria applied by the Giving Committee members in a given year.
  • Whether or not a grant applicant has received grant funds previously.
  • The number and nature of grant applications received.
