October North Street Neighborhood Association Meeting

The October meeting of the North Street Neighborhood Association will be on Thursday, October 2nd, at 6:30pm, at Hawthorne Library and online via Google Meet. Our regular meeting location is still under construction.

The call-in information is at the top of the agenda as well as on the calendar event (viewable on the righthand side of our website, https://northstreetna.org). You can view the agenda here. The Treasurer’s Report will be added before the meeting if possible, and several other items will have proposals added by October 2nd.

Feedback About the NSNA Giving Process

We’re seeking feedback about our giving process! One of our primary purposes is to support groups and organizations that are supporting our local (Emerson East and Eken Park) neighborhoods. There are several ways that we do this, one of which is by giving funds to local groups that are doing work in our community through our Giving Process. Every year, our Giving Committee coordinates this process, where groups can seek funding for work they are doing, ranging from supporting local arts to improvements at the elementary school playground to to native plantings in local parks to feeding high school kids. The process includes that we have chances for people to give feedback about it, and then revise the process based on that feedback. We’ve now gone through this process twice, in 2024 and 2025. We are asking community members (including NSNA members and groups who have received funds) to provide any feedback. We’ve put together a brief survey focused on things that you like and things that you’d like changed. We’ve intentionally left it short and open-ended so you can say as much or as little as you want. We will leave the form open until noon on September 17th.

November 2024 North Street Neighborhood Association Meeting Agenda

Our November meeting will be on Thursday, November 7th, at 6:30pm, at Bashford Church, with a call-in option (no video). You can view the meeting agenda, which includes the call-in information, meeting materials, and announcements.

November is when we hold our officer elections. Any member is eligible to run to be an officer, and you can nominate yourself. We need to elect a secretary, treasurer, and co-chair. The secretary and treasurer are one-year positions, and the co-chair is a two-year position. The co-chair for this year must be a resident of Emerson East. The secretary and treasurer can be from either neighborhood. All members of the association who are present at the meeting can vote for officers.

There are a few items that will be added to the agenda once they are ready. Those are the minutes from October 2024 (which will be added directly into the agenda) and information from Bear Development about their project (which will probably be a link to a PDF).
