We are a joint association of the Eken Park and Emerson East neighborhoods in Madison, WI. Anyone who lives in either of these neighborhoods, whether you rent or own, is invited to get involved. Our meetings are open to all. We invite you to join as a member. You can also get involved with one of our committees.

NSNA formed in late 2023 as a merger of the former Eken Park Neighborhood Association and Emerson East Neighborhood Association. We believe that our neighborhoods have much in common, and that working together is the most effective way to strengthen our community and enact positive change.

Our purpose is to provide agency to neighborhood residents through democratic participation. This includes: 

  • Offering a democratic forum for discussing, planning, and decision making;
  • Identifying common goals and working toward their achievement;
  • Advocating on behalf of neighborhood residents;
  • Facilitating engagement with our community;
  • Pursuing other programs and policies deemed appropriate to meet these ends.

Our steering committee for 2024 includes:

Meetings
We hold our monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month, at Bashford Church, 329 North St and on Google Meet from 6:30-7:30pm.

Neighborhood Social
Our neighborhood social is held the third Tuesday of each month at Dexter’s Pub, 301 North St. Drop by anytime between 6-9pm.

Other Events
We hold a neighborhood yard sale in the early summer and Eken Park Festival in August.
