While putting together the Eken Park Festival, there’d be so many questions or issues that came up that were only answered with “I wonder what others do when this comes up.” Thanks to the Madison Neighborhoods Grant process, the North Street Neighborhood Association is establishing a Festival Educational Series to create two ways to answer those questions.
- Create a space for the people that passionately donate their time and energy to put on our wonderful neighborhood festivals to meet, connect, and trade ideas.
- Invite people that professionally do day in, day out what festivals do once a year to talk about how they approach these tasks and answer questions based on their expertise.
Currently, the topics for each meeting are: vendor coordination (including food and drink), day-of volunteering, musical lineup and booking, fundraising, and general logistics like permitting and renting equipment.
